Yin Yoga always finds a way to give us the strength we need, the grounding we sometimes lose, and a reconnection to our dharma, our balance, and our patience by the end of every session we practice on our mat.

It has easily been the most impactful practice of Yoga that both of us have had the benefit of experiencing.

If you have never tried Yin, this might, just maybe, be your perfect opportunity. ❤

If you have, then we hope this can serve as a positive moment to jump back into your yin practice.

When you begin, or if you are beginning again, Yin Yoga can be tough.

It has a way of revealing your surface layer frustrations, your impatience, and any negative energy that tends to attach itself to you unknowingly, which can feel like an unfamiliar coat two sizes too small.

At first Yin tends to poke at you  and trigger great resistance from your ego and all that is within you which serves nothing higher.

Eventually through your breath, mindful movement, and patient stillness it always falls away from you like an old skin.

And almost always just at that moment when you finally find it in yourself to fully surrender to the process or the pose you are in.

For some people it takes two or three classes, some people only a pose or two…

But eventually a shift will take place.

And the more often you practice Yin, the more familiar your body will become to the process and return with greater ease to the benefits.

Yin Yoga truly is a beautiful reveal.

That’s when so many unexpected things always begin to take place within you.

It truly is magic.

GUIDELINES FOR THE SEVEN DAY EXPLORATION

♥ Follow the seven day schedule and find time each day to complete the scheduled Yin Class.

♥ During each class be very careful to listen to your body. If you feel sharp or electric or stabbing pain in any position at any time, come out as gently as you can and only resume once you feel confident your body is capable.

♥ In Yin Yoga breathing is key. Steady slow and deep long breaths help

♥ If your body needs a day off thats totally fine!  Just do your best to make it through all the videos, and if it takes more than seven days that’s okay too!

♥ Drink at least 2 L of water per day while on the Exploration. Add some lemon, or fruit to your water to make it a treat!

♥ Include at least one dark green leafy salad, steamed greens, and/or fresh green juice per day.

♥ Do your best to get as close to 8 hours of sleep per night as you can so your muscles have time to recover and rest.

♥ Try to limit the amount of processed and sugary food you eat. Fill your fridge with lots of fruits, veggies.

What Is YIN YOGA?

Yin Yoga is a style of yoga practice that targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. Suitable for almost all levels, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles.
