App & Web Platform Architect

A Day in the Life of Our New App & Web Platform Architect…

We’re looking for a skilled and passionate leader to execute the ideation, development, and ongoing management of a new Streaming Platform/App to serve the Boho Beautiful community in a new, engaging, and interactive way.

This person will begin by building a deep understanding of our current platform, systems and content to then help contribute & optimize to the strategy for future content releases, design presentation and audience interaction. This will include and touch all platforms that the current ‘Boho Beautiful Official’ eco-system exists upon: Web Browser, IOs, Android, Roku, AppleTV, etc.

Once an extensive grasp is achieved, this person will then work alongside company leadership to develop the build strategy for a brand new Boho Beautiful Official custom app/streaming platform. This could include (but is not limited to) various critical paths, from outsourcing contractors, building an internal team, or solidifying the acquisition of a balanced partnership with an established app development agency.

We use our visual platforms to engage and inspire in a way that builds community and fosters growth for each and every person on the other side of the screen. We’re searching for a skilled professional who can intimately understand this intention and our success and challenges faced to date, and then help craft an exciting new progressive platform to deliver our digital content through for the years to come.

Key Objectives

• Define and implement improved UX/UI strategy on our existing platform to best serve our users, including;
  • Developing content categorization and user interaction strategies
  • Discovering and implementing new features and improvements while maintaining core functionality
• Define and lead discovery activities, including: user research, competitive analysis, user task and goals identification, journey maps, process flows, etc.
• Lead the development of a brand new Boho Beautiful App – from ideation and design to build and launch.
• Build and manage a highly skilled and organized team to assist in the development and ongoing management of the new app.

To Be Successful in This Role, You Can…

• Confidently step into a leadership role in order and be capable in sourcing and building the right team for project success.
• Clearly communicate and advocate a strategic point of view utilizing strong design rationale, and be open to feedback and collaboration.
• Create deliverables that communicate problems and/or solutions to our audiences- using the appropriate tools for clear communication. For example: storytelling decks, wireframes/mock-ups, interactive prototypes, concept videos, etc.
• Participate in, create, facilitate, and identify opportunities for collaborative ideation sessions with teams across work-streams.
• Thrive in ambiguity, build consensus, and share ideas that could be implemented to improve UX, Design & Content Strategy — and provide recourse strategies to build better solutions.

Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience – with much of that in product development or user experience design and build, or have been in pivotal leadership positions that were successful from product ideation to release in past app/web projects of a similar industry.
• A relevant portfolio demonstrating past projects and your end-to-end development process involved in each.
• Practical understanding (including capabilities, patterns, and limitations) of current technologies used to build rich experiences in responsive web and native mobile apps.
• Experienced in leadership and facilitation techniques that allow teams across functional groups to build clarity and alignment.
• Ability to balance great design solutions with an iterative, agile approach.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and passion in the Yoga and Fitness space

And to sweeten it even further, this role is remote in nature. You can work from anywhere in the world 🌎. We only require that your working hours overlap with your direct manager’s for at least a few hours per day.
